We are looking for a Practice Nurse who will work as part of the Nursing Team, delivering high-quality, patient-focused nursing care. The role involves managing chronic diseases, delivering preventative care, supporting health promotion, and assisting in clinical procedures, in line with NHS standards and guidelines.
Main duties of the job:
- Chronic disease management
- Cervical smear taking
- Immunisations administration for both adults and children
- Travel vaccine administration and advice
Job responsibilities:
- Undertake chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension) in line with national and local protocols.
- Administer vaccines and injections safely and effectively.
- Provide general nursing services including immunisations and cervical screening.
- Perform health assessments, screenings, and NHS health checks.
- Support minor surgery procedures and assist GPs when required.
- Carry out travel health consultations and vaccinations where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a GP practice setting
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC registration
- Practice Nurse qualification, Cytology, Immunisations and vaccination qualified
- Chronic disease management qualifications
Experience:
- Experience of working in a Practice Nurse team in General Practice
