- We’re looking for an intern to join Earlybird’s investment team across our offices in Berlin, Munich, and London. This is a hands‑on role and you’ll work alongside the team on real deals, contribute to investment decisions, and develop your own perspective on the European startup landscape
- Whether you come from a traditional finance background, a more unconventional path, or somewhere in between, what matters to us is how you think, what you’re curious about, and what you’ve done with that curiosity
- Sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities - finding interesting companies early and building your own conviction through research
- Writing investment memos and contributing to deal assessments that feed directly into our investment process
- Developing sector expertise through deep dives and sharing original insights with the team
- Supporting portfolio companies with analysis, research, and connections
- Building your network across Europe’s startup and VC ecosystem
You are in the final stages of your Bachelor’s degree, currently pursuing a Master’s, or have already graduated and you have at least one prior internship under your belt. Experience in a fast-moving environment - whether a startup, a VC fund, consulting, or private equity - gives you a stronger foundation for this role, though we care more about what you took away from the experience than the name on the letterheadA genuine interest in technology, startups, and venture capital - whether that comes through work experience, your own projects, reading, or building things on the side
We don’t have a fixed template for the ideal candidate. Some of our best interns came from finance, others from engineering, the humanities, or paths that didn’t fit any obvious category.
A few things we do ask for:
- Curiosity that goes beyond the surface - you tend to go deeper than required, ask the question behind the question, and form your own point of view
- Clear thinking and clear communication - you can structure an argument, explain something complex simply, and update your view when new information arrives
- Evidence of initiative - something you’ve built, launched, competed in, or written, that shows you take action on your interests rather than just holding them
- The ability to work with us full-time for 3–6 months, starting in the first half of 2027, with the relevant work permit for your preferred office
- A technical or niche background is a bonus, particularly if it maps to an area of active investment focus
We are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the founders and markets we work with, and we welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds
