We're looking for an Events & Community Lead to own and scale our events and community platform as a strategic asset for the firm. In this role, you will design and run high-quality offline events, translate relationships into trusted online communities, and ensure that the most valuable moments with our ecosystem are identified, captured, and prepared for distribution through the right channels.
This role is open to a wide range of seniority levels. We care more about judgment, relevance, and signal than years of experience on a CV.
At Earlybird, your projects, responsibilities, and tasks will likely include:
- Own and evolve Earlybird's events and community platform as a core part of the firm
- Design, plan, and execute curated, high-quality events for founders, operators, and technical leaders
- Own the full event lifecycle, from concept and guest curation to logistics, hosting, follow-ups, and iteration
- Build repeatable systems that turn offline events into lasting online relationships and communities
- Launch, grow, and engage trusted online communities aligned with our investment themes using platforms such as Slack, Discord, or similar
- Work closely with the investment team to facilitate high-quality events and discussions, ensuring depth, relevance, and strong signal
- Collaborate with comms and marketing to define why certain moments matter and how they should be captured
- Brief internal and external creators on key moments, insights, and narratives worth documenting
- Act as a signal filter between the ecosystem and the media function, without owning final content assets
- Design event formats with capture in mind, including pacing, structure, and interaction formats
Why join us:
- Own and shape a core part of Earlybird's platform and ecosystem strategy
- Build communities and events that compound in value over time
- Work closely with partners, investors, and a highly-driven platform team
- Get real ownership, long-term impact, and room to shape the role based on your strengths
- Help define how one of Europe's leading VC firms builds trust, relevance, and signal at scale
About Earlybird:
Founded in 1997, Earlybird backs exceptional early-stage companies across Europe - supporting them with capital, strategic guidance, and access to a global network. Our platform includes dedicated strategies for tech and health, a Growth Opportunity Fund for follow-ons, and a pro-bono initiative, Vision Lab. With β¬2.5 billion under management and a track record of 9 IPOs and 35 trade sales, Earlybird is one of Europe's most established venture capital firms.
What we hope you bring to the role:
- Experience building and nurturing offline and/or online communities in a tech-driven environment, with a clear sense of purpose
- Strong judgment around event formats, guest curation, and facilitation, with a focus on depth and relevance
- Ability to create continuity and engagement beyond individual events or moments
- Comfortable moderating conversations and communities in a thoughtful, low-ego way
- Curiosity for technical topics such as AI and the ability to follow and support nuanced discussions
- Structured, reliable, and comfortable owning initiatives end-to-end
- Builder mindset with enjoyment for creating structure and iterating over time
- Experience collaborating with communications, marketing, or media teams in clearly defined roles
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events across Europe
- Valid UK and/or EU work authorization
