Full Day Care Provision is seeking a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Cleaner to join our dedicated team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and who understands the importance of providing a safe and welcoming environment for young children, families, staff and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated, trustworthy and able to work independently while contributing to the smooth running of our full day care setting.

About the Role: As our Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the provision are kept clean, safe and hygienic.

Duties will include: cleaning all setting areas, playrooms, toilets, kitchen areas, offices, staff facilities and outdoor areas, as well as carrying out routine and deep cleaning tasks throughout the year.

You will also:

• Clean and sanitise furniture, equipment and frequently touched surfaces.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop and dust designated areas.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.
• Support laundry tasks if required.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and COSHH procedures.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards or concerns promptly.
• Act as a key holder for the setting.
• Undertake twice-yearly deep cleaning of carpets, rugs and other areas as agreed with management.

We are looking for someone who has:

Essential

• Experience of cleaning in a professional environment.
• Good knowledge of cleaning methods and hygiene standards.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively.
• A positive and professional attitude.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

• Experience working in a childcare, education or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations.
• Relevant cleaning, health and safety or hygiene qualifications.

10 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work will need to be flexible. Hours and contract terms will be discussed during interview. Working hours will normally be before the provision opens at 8:00am or after it closes at 6:00pm, although alternative arrangements may be agreed with management.
