Baby Room Leader Job in Muswell Hill – Up to £16 Per Hour
Early Years Academy is recruiting a passionate, experienced and dedicated Baby Room Leader for a nursery setting in Muswell Hill, North London (N10 1ND).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Baby Room Leader or qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner looking to progress into a leadership position, offering a competitive hourly rate of up to £16 per hour.
We are looking for a warm, nurturing and confident early years professional who has a genuine passion for working with babies and supporting their earliest stages of development.
Your Responsibilities
As a Baby Room Leader, you will:
- Lead, support and motivate a team of nursery practitioners within the baby room.
- Provide exceptional care for babies and young children, supporting their individual needs and routines.
- Create a calm, safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
- Plan engaging, age-appropriate sensory and play-based learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support babies' physical, emotional, social and communication development.
- Build secure attachments and positive relationships with babies and their families.
- Oversee observations, assessments and individual learning plans.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, nappy changing, feeding and safe sleep practices.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding, child protection and health and safety standards.
- Support staff development, mentoring and effective teamwork.
- Work closely with nursery management to maintain high standards of childcare.
- Ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios and effective deployment within the baby room.
Requirements
To be considered for this Baby Room Leader position, you should have:
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, as a minimum.
- Previous experience working with babies in a nursery or early years setting.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework, particularly the development of children under two.
- Excellent knowledge of baby care routines, safeguarding and safe sleep practices.
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- Confidence in supporting, mentoring and motivating other practitioners.
- A caring, patient and nurturing approach to working with babies.
- A genuine passion for early childhood development and high-quality childcare.
- Previous experience as a Baby Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner or Nursery Room Leader would be advantageous.
