Early Years Academy is recruiting for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join a nursery in Penrith, CA11, offering a salary of £31,308 per annum.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys leading a team, inspiring young children and delivering high-quality Early Years education.
We welcome applications from existing Room Leaders and experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioners who are ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
As Nursery Room Leader, you will:
- Lead, motivate and support a team of Early Years Practitioners.
- Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding and education within your room.
- Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor children’s development through observations, assessments and individual learning plans.
- Support children’s emotional, social, physical and communication development.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Mentor and support junior practitioners, encouraging professional development.
- Maintain appropriate staffing ratios and follow nursery policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team to support the smooth running of the setting.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years or Childcare.
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool or Early Years setting.
- Experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner or an experienced Level 3 Practitioner ready for progression.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic and caring approach.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare and Early Years education.
