Early Years Academy is recruiting a passionate, experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Room Leader for an early years setting in Didcot, Oxfordshire (OX11 9BJ).

Your Responsibilities
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will:
- Lead and support a team of early years practitioners within your designated nursery room.
- Provide high-quality care and education for babies and young children.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support children’s learning, development and wellbeing through play-based experiences.
- Oversee observations, assessments and individual learning plans.
- Ensure the room provides a safe, welcoming, stimulating and inclusive environment.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, child protection, health and safety.
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Support staff development, mentoring and effective teamwork.
- Ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios and effective deployment within the room.
- Work closely with the nursery management team to maintain excellent standards of childcare.
Requirements
To be considered for this Nursery Room Leader position, you should have:
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, as a minimum.
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Confidence in supporting, mentoring and motivating other practitioners.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and development.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
- A positive, proactive and professional approach to nursery leadership.
- Previous Room Leader or senior practitioner experience would be advantageous.
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £32,000 per annum.
Hours: 40 hours per week.
