Early Years Academy is recruiting a passionate, confident and organised Nursery Manager for a maternity cover position in Edgware, North West London, offering a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established nursery leader who enjoys managing teams, maintaining high standards of childcare and ensuring children receive outstanding learning experiences during their earliest years.
We are looking for a dedicated Early Years professional who can provide confident leadership throughout a period of maternity cover, ensuring continuity for children, parents and nursery colleagues.
ABOUT THE NURSERY MANAGER MATERNITY COVER ROLE
As Maternity Cover Nursery Manager, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the nursery during the agreed cover period.
You will provide stability and continuity, ensuring that children continue to receive high-quality childcare and education and that nursery colleagues remain supported in their roles.
You will work with the nursery’s existing team and relevant senior management or ownership representatives to maintain established standards, procedures and expectations.
The successful candidate will be confident managing nursery operations, leading staff, communicating with families and ensuring the setting continues to meet applicable safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
You will also support curriculum delivery, monitor the quality of Early Years provision and identify opportunities to maintain or improve practice.
This position requires an experienced, approachable and proactive leader who can adapt quickly to an existing nursery environment and build positive professional relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – NURSERY MANAGER
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the effective day-to-day running of the nursery during the maternity cover period.
- Providing consistent and supportive leadership to nursery practitioners, room leaders and other colleagues.
- Maintaining high standards of childcare, education and safeguarding.
- Ensuring the nursery operates in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Promoting children’s independence, confidence, communication and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensuring children receive appropriate individualised care and learning opportunities.
- Monitoring children’s observations, assessments and developmental progress.
- Supporting inclusive practice and appropriate provision for children with SEND.
- Maintaining positive relationships with parents, carers and families.
- Ensuring clear and professional communication between nursery staff and families.
- Managing daily staffing arrangements and supporting effective staff deployment.
