Are you a passionate and experienced Baby Room Leader looking for an exciting new opportunity in Hendon, Barnet?
We are recruiting for a dedicated, caring and enthusiastic Baby Room Leader to join a nursery in Hendon, NW4, North West London, offering a competitive salary of up to £34,000 per annum.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Nursery Practitioner, Senior Early Years Educator or existing Room Leader who loves working with babies and is ready to take the next step in their Early Years career.
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of early attachment, sensory development and creating a safe, loving and stimulating environment where babies can flourish.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Baby Room team, ensuring high standards of childcare and education.
- Create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for babies and younger children.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate sensory, physical and developmental activities in line with the EYFS.
- Support babies’ emotional wellbeing, attachment and early communication skills.
- Oversee daily routines, including feeding, sleeping, nappy changing and personal care.
- Ensure safe sleep practices and effective safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Monitor children’s development through observations, assessments and individual learning plans.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Support and mentor Early Years Practitioners within the room.
- Maintain appropriate staffing ratios and high standards of health, safety and hygiene.
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years or Childcare.
- Previous experience working with babies in a nursery or Early Years setting.
- Experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner or an experienced Level 3 Practitioner ready for progression.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Understanding of baby care routines, safe sleep, attachment and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- A warm, caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Passion for delivering exceptional care and Early Years education.
