We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and experienced Senior Childcare Worker to join our nursery team in Ystalyfera. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality childcare, supporting children's learning and development, and leading by example within the nursery team.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Level 5 qualification in Childcare or Early Years, such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children's Care, Learning and Development (Advanced Practice), or equivalent OR A recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years that is accepted on the Welsh Government's Early Years and Childcare Qualifications List, together with a willingness to work towards an appropriate Level 5 qualification.
In addition, applicants should:
- Have previous experience working within an early years or nursery setting, with the confidence to support, mentor and lead colleagues where required.
- Be flexible and able to work a varied shift pattern to meet the needs of the nursery.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to carry out school runs and other transportation duties.
- Have Welsh language skills or be willing to use and develop Welsh language skills within the nursery.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.
- Have a sound understanding of child development, safeguarding, and the Curriculum for Wales and Early Years Foundation Phase principles.
- Be committed to promoting children's wellbeing, learning and development through high-quality, inclusive childcare.
- Be reliable, organised and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week with overtime where required. Opening hours of the setting are 7am - 6.30pm.
