Early Learners Nursery is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Casual Nursery Chef to support our settings across St Helens. This flexible role is ideal for someone looking to work on an as‑needed basis, with the option to pick up shifts that suit their availability. There may also be opportunities to work across our other sites in Wigan, Runcorn and Widnes if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in line with regulations
  • Manage food preparation areas and kitchen equipment effectively
  • Cater for individual dietary requirements and allergies
  • Support the wider nursery team to ensure a positive environment for children

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar cooking or catering role
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
  • Ability to work flexibly across different sites
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • A positive, reliable and team‑focused approach
