Earlsferry House Care Home is set in a stunning coastal location in the beautiful town of Elie and Earlsferry. Our welcoming 26 bed home provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care in a warm and nurturing environment where every meal is made with care and attention to detail. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team and deliver high quality, nutritious and comforting meals for our residents.

What We Offer

  • Β£12.50 per hour
  • Contracted to 20 hours per week
  • Paid PVG
  • Pension scheme

  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

What You Will Do

  • You will prepare, cook and serve a variety of hot and cold meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
  • Working with the Head Chef, you will assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, nutritious and enjoyable meals using fresh ingredients where possible.
  • You will maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, manage stock and supplies, complete temperature checks and records, and ensure equipment and crockery are cleaned and stored correctly.
  • You will support a calm, welcoming dining experience and contribute to the overall wellbeing of residents through thoughtful, timely service.

What We Are Looking For

  • City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent qualification achieved or working towards
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience preparing meals for people with specific dietary needs is desirable
  • Ability to work well as part of a small kitchen team and to use initiative when required
  • Good communication skills and a caring approach
