London (Leyton E10) | Full-time | Studio-based

At Earl of East, we believe in ritual over routine. Since 2014, we've been creating home fragrance products designed to help people create moments of calm, connection and reflection in their everyday lives. What started as a market stall has grown into a multi-channel business with four London stores, over 250 wholesale partners worldwide and an in-house production studio where every product begins its journey.

We're looking for a Studio Production Manager to lead our production team and oversee the day-to-day running of our London studio. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing people, process and product. You'll be responsible for ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently and safely while maintaining the quality and attention to detail that defines our brand.

The Role

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Production & Output
      • Lead day-to-day candle production, ensuring output aligns with weekly production plans
      • Ensure the smooth running of the weekly production schedule, with a minimum of 95% of targets met
      • Supervise daily production activities to ensure production targets are consistently achieved
      • Maintain consistent quality across pouring, finishing and packing
      • Monitor output in real time and adjust workflow where needed
      • Minimise production errors and material waste
    • Team Management & Leadership
      • Supervise and support production assistants on shift
      • Allocate tasks clearly and maintain pace, focus and organisation across the team
      • Provide continuous support, guidance and on-the-floor training
      • Ensure the team maintains productivity and consistency throughout the day
    • Process & Standards
      • Ensure all production follows agreed SOPs and internal standards
      • Identify potential bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve performance and quality
      • Maintain accurate batch tracking, labelling and production records
      • Uphold health & safety standards across the studio
      • Keep the production space clean, organised and operationally ready
    • Systems & Reporting
      • Ensure all finished goods are uploaded into the inventory management system with 100% accuracy
      • Provide a clear end-of-day handover via the production Slack channel, including output, issues and next steps
      • Maintain visibility across production progress at all times

About You

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Confident leading teams and managing workflow
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable enforcing processes and maintaining standards
  • Proactive, reliable and accountable

Working Pattern

  • Full-time role, 40 hours per week
  • Studio-based
  • Flexibility required during peak production periods

Development & Review

  • A formal 3-month review will assess:
    • Output vs production targets
    • Accuracy and system compliance
    • Team performance and leadership
    • Process adherence and improvements
