Senior Associate - Casualty Injury (0652)
Are you looking to be responsible for running your own case load of EL and PL claims including those valued well into the Multi Track?
The role
We are looking for a Senior Associate with a minimum of four years current post-qualification experience to join our Insurance Disputes National Service Line (NSL) based in our Birmingham office. You will be responsible for running your own case load of EL and PL claims including those valued well into the Multi Track. Although not a core component of the work undertaken, some experience of clinical negligence litigation would be an advantage for the successful candidate. You will also be undertaking work on catastrophic injury claims largely arising from industrial accidents, assisting the senior team members on those cases.
You will act for direct corporate clients, insurers of commercial entities and other intermediaries acting as third party administrators to Underwriters of commercial and combined risks.
You will also be supervising junior lawyers including trainees and paralegals and assist in team marketing events and delivering client seminars.
The person
You will have relevant experience dealing with personal injury claims and litigation. You will be able to βhit the ground running', and will have managed your own caseload independently, guiding and directing the resource of others to achieve the agreed strategy and interim objectives in a given piece of litigation. Ideally you will also have experience assisting Partner level fee earners of your team on larger cases.
- Extensive Defendant Personal Injury Litigation experience
- Self-starting with common sense and initiative
- Good time and file management skills
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
The benefits
As you'd expect, we offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits.
If we offer you a role, we will conduct comprehensive pre-employment screening. This screening will include, but is not limited to, a basic DBS, verification of your right to work, a three year employment history and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Full details of our pre-screening employment process are available upon request.
