Senior Principal Consultant – Infrastructure & Cloud – Insurance & Financial Services
Eames have partnered with a London Market Insurance firm to assist in the search for a Solution Architect for an initial 6-month period. This role is a hybrid set up and will be based in London for a minimum of 2 days per week for the full duration of the contract.
Applicants must have a current or previous insurance background to be considered for the role.
Our customer is undertaking a major transformation programme to simplify its operations as part of its operational excellence journey across primarily finance, broker relationship management, Procurement and Service Provider Management. One primary aim is to give people across operations more time to focus on what’s important.
You will provide architecture leadership on the programme working with internal stakeholders, and external vendors to define an architectural roadmap to achieve the desired outcomes for the programme.
You will define solution architectures in collaboration with the wider architectural team on a hybrid estate across third party SAAS; and our own cloud, data and underwriting platforms.
You will be expected to identify and assess architectural risks and communicate clearly the trade-offs in business language so key stakeholders can take appropriate actions to get the best return on the programme’s IT investment.
Daily Duties:
- Working across domains, deriving solutions and architectural approaches with the aim of advancing overall business and technology capabilities.
- Ensure alignment to, and evolution of, Enterprise Architecture principles, practices and roadmaps.
- Ensure that architectural decisions are clearly identified and managed for the programme, and any residual technical debt is managed.
- Work closely with engineers internally and externally to guide the realisation of the solutions, and to manage collaboratively where architecturally intent cannot be realised as intended.
- Promote the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results.
- Evaluate selection of vendor products against the architectural guardrails, functional and non-functional requirements, and participate in third party technical assurance where appropriate.
- Document architecture design in the best way to support the delivery of valuable assets.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs through close collaboration.
- Promote re-use of common components and assets.
- Leadership, Mentoring and Influencing of technical development teams.
