A specialist insurer is looking for a Senior Ceded Reinsurance Analyst to support the delivery and development of its outward reinsurance operations. This role would suit someone with strong experience across ceded reinsurance, reinsurance accounting, bordereaux, reconciliations and reporting, who enjoys working with detailed data and improving processes.

You will support the administration of reinsurance arrangements, including premium and loss reporting, recoverables, bordereaux, reconciliations, documentation and financial reporting activity. You will also work closely with underwriting, claims, finance and reinsurance teams to ensure information is accurate, complete and applied correctly across systems. There will also be scope to help improve workflows, controls, reporting and data quality across the function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the administration of ceded reinsurance arrangements across premium, loss and recoverable activity
  • Preparing and reviewing bordereaux, billings, reconciliations and related reporting
  • Ensuring reinsurance data is accurately captured and maintained across systems
  • Supporting close activity, balance reconciliations and financial reporting requirements
  • Working with internal teams to resolve queries around contract application, coding, documentation and reporting
  • Liaising with external reinsurance partners and brokers where required
  • Maintaining accurate records and audit-ready documentation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting and data quality
  • Supporting ad hoc analysis, projects and internal/external information requests

Key experience required:

  • Ceded reinsurance operations, reinsurance accounting or technical insurance operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of bordereaux, reconciliations, billings, recoverables and reporting
  • Understanding of treaty and/or facultative reinsurance arrangements
  • Experience supporting close processes, financial reporting or accounting activity
  • Strong Excel, data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with complex information
  • Confident stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners
  • Experience within delegated authority, MGA, programme business or specialty insurance would be advantageous
