Eames are exclusively partnered with an Insurance Platform to appoint a Head of Risk reporting directly to the Risk Director. This is a strategic leadership role where you will help shape how risk is identified, managed and embedded across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll provide insight and challenge to support informed decision-making while building a strong, forward-thinking risk culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop the organisation’s risk strategy, ensuring it supports business objectives.
  • Identify, assess and manage operational, financial, regulatory and emerging risks.
  • Provide clear risk reporting and insight to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Strengthen risk frameworks, processes and governance across the business.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing risk team, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Drive effective enterprise-wide risk reporting and escalation.
  • Manage corporate insurance programmes, working with insurers and external partners.
  • Oversee insurance negotiations and claims management, including complex risk areas.

About You

You’ll be an experienced risk leader with:

  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, governance and best practice.
  • Experience working in the insurance sector.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory requirements and the ability to operate in an FCA-regulated environment.
  • A track record of building effective risk strategies and leading teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to identify trends and risks.
  • A calm, objective and pragmatic approach when managing complex challenges.
