The role will also provide exposure to other complex lines.
The business has a strong track record within traditional energy markets and is now investing heavily in its renewable energy capability. This role offers the chance to be part of that growth, working closely with senior stakeholders across claims, underwriting, brokers, lawyers and external experts.
The role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex energy and specialty claims from first notification through to resolution. This will include reviewing coverage, setting strategy, managing reserves, appointing and overseeing external vendors, negotiating settlements and ensuring claims are handled efficiently, commercially and fairly.
You will take a proactive approach to claims management, identifying key issues early, escalating high-value or complex matters where needed, and providing clear recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. You will also play an important role in improving claims processes, supporting portfolio insight and contributing to the continued development of the renewable energy claims proposition.
Requirements:
- Strong experience handling energy, renewable energy, property, casualty or complex specialty claims
- Experience within the London Market, Lloyd’s or specialty insurance environment
- A good understanding of insurance principles, coverage, reserving and claims strategy
- Confidence managing high-value or technically complex claims
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with brokers, lawyers, experts and internal teams
- A commercial, proactive and solutions-focused approach to claims handling
- The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders
- Professional insurance qualifications would be advantageous
This is a brilliant opportunity for a senior claims professional who wants to be involved in a growing renewable energy portfolio, while still retaining exposure to complex and varied specialty claims. The role would suit someone who enjoys technical claims work, values collaboration and wants to join a business with genuine ambition in the renewable energy space.
