The Role

  • Lead quarterly reserving reviews across a diverse portfolio of Lloyd's and London Market business.
  • Produce reserve recommendations and communicate results to senior management and reserving committees.
  • Work closely with underwriting teams to understand portfolio performance, emerging trends and claims developments.
  • Deliver analysis to support business planning, forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to reserve risk parameterisation and the wider capital model process.
  • Support Solvency II, Lloyd's and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Drive improvements in reserving methodologies, processes and governance.
  • Manage and mentor junior actuarial team members, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Claims, Risk and Underwriting teams across a range of business initiatives.

About You

  • FIA qualified actuary.
  • Strong reserving experience gained within a Lloyd's syndicate, managing agent or London Market insurer.
  • Excellent understanding of non-life reserving techniques and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience communicating technical findings to both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic and commercially focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous mentoring or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
