A specialist insurer is looking to appoint a Reinsurance Operations Analyst to join its UK operations team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across outwards reinsurance, claims operations or technical insurance processing who enjoys working with detailed claims information, reinsurance calculations and stakeholder queries. The role would suit someone technically confident, organised and comfortable working with long-tail liability claims. You will be joining a collaborative team where you will support the accurate handling, reporting and administration of reinsurance-related activity. The work will involve liaising with internal claims teams, brokers, reinsurers and other external parties, so strong communication skills and attention to detail will be important.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the processing and presentation of outwards reinsurance claims
  • Reviewing claims information and documentation to help resolve queries
  • Working with internal claims teams and external parties to obtain accurate information
  • Assisting with regular reinsurance reporting and account preparation
  • Supporting calculations relating to claims recoveries, exposure periods and apportionment
  • Helping maintain accurate records and ensuring work is completed within agreed deadlines
  • Providing wider operational support across the reinsurance and claims function

Requirements:

  • Experience in outwards / ceded reinsurance, reinsurance claims, claims operations or technical insurance processing
  • Exposure to UK employers’ liability, US asbestos, disease, casualty or long-tail liability claims
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to work accurately with technical information
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with data, reports and documentation
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to pick up multiple processes quickly
