Eames are working with a growing, specialist MGA on the hire of an Underwriting Manager within their healthcare division. The business has been building out its insurance offering over the past few years and is now looking to strengthen its underwriting leadership as the portfolio continues to grow.
The focus is on UK medical malpractice risks written on a corporate basis (ranging from GP surgeries through to small hospitals, with ambitions to move into larger healthcare groups). The role will involve taking ownership of the underwriting function day-to-day, managing a junior team and working closely with senior leadership.
It's a mix of leadership and hands-on underwriting, with the opportunity to influence underwriting approach, pricing and portfolio development. They are looking to speak with experienced underwriters with a background in medical malpractice / healthcare liability, ideally with some exposure to managing or mentoring more junior team members.
Flexible working (typically 1-2 days in the office), open culture and a strong platform for someone looking to step into a broader leadership role. If of interest, please apply or reach out for a confidential conversation.
