We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst within our client’s Business Transformation team, to play a pivotal role in the delivery of our Underwriting Workbench programme. This is a permanent position at the heart of a strategic transformation initiative focused on modernising underwriting capabilities across our London Market business. The role reports into the Head of Business Analysis.
The successful candidate will combine deep London Market insurance expertise with strong business analysis and stakeholder leadership skills. You will act as a trusted partner to Underwriters, Operations, Technology and third-parties, ensuring that business needs are translated into effective, scalable solutions.
- Lead business analysis activities across the full lifecycle of the Underwriting Workbench programme.
- Elicit, analyse and document complex business requirements, ensuring traceability through design and delivery.
- Work closely with Testing team to ensure requirements are SMART.
- Translate London Market processes (placement, binding, endorsements, renewals, delegated authority where applicable) into system and data requirements.
- Support vendor selection, implementation and configuration where applicable.
- Drive process optimisation, automation opportunities and data quality improvements.
- Ensure regulatory and market requirements.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Business Analysts where required.
- Participation in Business analysis & Business Transformation team meetings.
Significant experience (ideally 5+ years) as a Business Analyst within the London Market insurance sector, ideally within a managing agent. Strong understanding of underwriting processes across the policy lifecycle. Experience working on underwriting platforms, workbench implementations or core system transformation programmes would be a huge advantage. Experience engaging directly with senior Underwriters and business leadership. Experience working within Agile and/or hybrid delivery frameworks. Commercial awareness and understanding of underwriting performance drivers. Comfortable working in ambiguity within a transformation environment.
