We are delighted to be working with a VC-backed B2B technology business to support their search for an experienced Financial Controller. You will form a key part of a lean finance function, working closely with the UK‐based Finance Director.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Lead both month‐end and year‐end close processes.
- Deliver clear financial analysis, including variance reporting against budget and forecast, with meaningful commentary for senior leadership and budget owners.
- Prepare high‐quality financial presentations and reports for the board and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain detailed cash flow forecasting models (weekly and monthly) to ensure strong liquidity management.
- Oversee working capital performance, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Continuously assess and enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax rules, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
- Provide financial modelling and insight to support strategic planning and decision‐making.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience working within a technology business
