We are looking for an experienced insurance finance professional to join our finance function in a key role focused on IFRS 17 reporting and insight. This position will play a central part in delivering high-quality quarterly and annual IFRS 17 results, while also helping to shape and strengthen the organisation's IFRS 17 framework as it continues to mature.

The role combines hands‐on technical delivery with process ownership and stakeholder partnership. You will be responsible for translating complex actuarial and financial information into robust accounting outputs and meaningful management commentary. You will also act as a trusted technical advisor on IFRS 17 matters and contribute to the continuous evolution of reporting processes and controls.

You will take ownership of the production of IFRS 17 results, including preparing and posting journals, validating system outputs, and ensuring results are complete, accurate, and well controlled. A key part of the role will involve analysing movements in performance, reconciling IFRS 17 results to other reporting bases such as UK GAAP, and producing clear explanations for senior management and group stakeholders.

You will prepare IFRS 17 financial statements and associated narrative for interim and year‐end reporting, and support the preparation of management information used at executive level. In addition, you will oversee the IFRS 17 expense attribution framework, maintaining methodologies, assumptions, and allocation approaches, and ensuring expenses are appropriately reflected in IFRS 17 results.

You will work closely with actuarial, finance, and group reporting teams to coordinate inputs, challenge data where necessary, and resolve issues efficiently. You will also respond to technical and analytical queries from head office and other internal stakeholders.

Strong governance is a core part of the role. You will ensure IFRS 17 processes are well documented, operate within a robust control environment, and are supported by clear reconciliations and evidence. You will support internal and external audit activity and contribute to finance‐wide initiatives and ad‐hoc projects as required.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with strong experience in insurance accounting and demonstrable hands‐on IFRS 17 reporting experience. You will have excellent analytical skills, be comfortable working with complex data sets, and possess advanced Excel capability. Experience with reporting or consolidation systems such as OneStream or Moody's Risk Integrity would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will be organised, delivery‐focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities to tight deadlines. You will have strong communication skills and be able to explain complex technical topics in a clear and practical way. You will be confident working independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
