An established international general insurance (non-life) business is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join its finance function. This role sits within a central finance team and supports corporate entities across multiple jurisdictions, delivering high-quality financial reporting, strong control oversight, and effective stakeholder communication.
The position offers broad exposure across statutory reporting, group consolidation, regulatory submissions, tax coordination, and finance governance, with opportunities to contribute to process improvement and cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver accurate, complete, and timely corporate and group financial reporting in line with internal and external deadlines.
- Prepare entity-level financial statements and supporting analysis, including clear commentary on key movements.
- Coordinate statutory accounts for UK and overseas entities and act as a key contact during audit cycles.
- Produce finance papers and supporting materials for senior management and governance forums.
- Support regulatory and supervisory reporting requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
- Prepare committee and board-level reporting packs for corporate entities.
- Maintain and enhance corporate accounting processes and internal controls.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations, including service arrangements.
- Perform balance sheet substantiation with robust documentation and review standards.
- Support interim and year-end control assurance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in working papers, reporting quality, and efficiency.
- Provide cover and support across the wider corporate finance team as required.
- Coordinate corporate tax filings for UK and overseas entities in collaboration with tax specialists.
- Support indirect tax submissions where applicable.
- Prepare tax documentation, certificates, and information requests for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with regulatory-related financial submissions as required.
- Support financial reviews and due diligence activities relating to counterparties and intermediaries.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for key finance processes and controls.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and prepare technical position papers where required.
- Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects and transformation initiatives.
