Our client is a well-established specialist commercial insurer in the Lloyd's and company markets, serving businesses of all sizes across the UK and internationally. They're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their London Finance team.
You'll take ownership of underwriting results reporting and the month-end accounting process, playing a key role in maintaining accuracy and strong financial control across complex insurance data.
- Leading the accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results across premiums, claims, reserves and acquisition costs.
- Owning and improving the end-to-end month-end accounting process, with a focus on strong controls and efficient delivery.
- Overseeing reconciliations and technical balance controls to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Leading, developing and motivating a small team of accountants.
- Partnering with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance and regulatory teams, plus auditors and head office, to deliver accurate financial insights.
Skillset
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in insurance accounting, including Lloyd's and company market principles.
- Proven experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable interpreting complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Alteryx, SQL or similar financial platforms is a plus.
