We are partnering on a search for an M&A Director to join a PE backed financial services business at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. The business operates within the UK financial services ecosystem and is executing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy as part of a broader private equity value-creation plan.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO and working with the investors, the M&A Director will be responsible for originating, executing, and integrating acquisitions with the support of a small integration team. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end M&A activity: origination, evaluation, execution
- Building and maintaining a robust acquisition pipeline aligned to strategic objectives
- Conducting commercial and financial due diligence with internal and external advisors
- Developing investment cases, valuation models, and Board materials
- Working closely with finance, legal, risk, and operational leaders to deliver successful integrations
- Supporting broader corporate development initiatives as the business scales
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Proven M&A / corporate development experience within financial services, fintech, asset management, wealth management
- Strong exposure to PE-backed environments and investor-led growth strategies
- A track record of executing transactions in the lower-mid market
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and deal-structuring capability
- The gravitas to operate at Board and investor level, balanced with a hands-on approach
