The Opportunity
We are working with a rapidly growing PE-backed managed service provider. The organisation is well-established, cash-generative and entering a critical value-creation phase ahead of a planned exit in the next 2–3 years. This is an exciting opportunity for a first or second move from practice to step into a broad, hands-on financial leadership role, working closely with a highly experienced finance leader who will act as a mentor and guide through PE ownership, value creation and exit preparation. The role offers genuine exposure to audit ownership, statutory reporting, financial control and commercial insight, with scope to grow in line with the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of financial accounting and month-end close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and strong controls
- Lead on statutory accounts preparation and act as the primary contact for external auditors
- Manage and develop core financial controls, processes and documentation in line with PE expectations
- Oversee cashflow, balance sheet integrity and working capital
- Play an active role in exit readiness, including audit trail, data quality and reporting robustness
- Partner with non-finance stakeholders to improve financial understanding and decision-making
Candidate Profile
- ACA/ACCA qualified (preferred, CIMA also accepted)
- Ideally trained in practice
- Either: Making a first move from practice, or in a second-step industry role and looking for broader responsibility
- Strong grounding in audit and financial reporting
- Commercially curious, hands-on and comfortable in a lean environment
- Confident communicator able to work closely with senior leadership
Why This Role?
- Clear PE exit story with exposure to the full lifecycle
- Exceptional mentorship from a seasoned finance leader
- Broad, end-to-end role — not a “number two in name only”
- Opportunity to significantly accelerate post-practice development
- Potential for career progression and upside as the business scales toward exit
