Senior Project Manager – Pensions

  • We are working with a leading

Pensions Administration and advisory business that is growing its Client Projects function and looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team.

This is a genuinely client-facing role, delivering strategic and commercially focused projects for pension scheme clients.

You will sit at the heart of client engagements, taking ownership of complex projects while building trusted relationships with trustees, advisers and senior stakeholders.

The Role

You will lead a portfolio of client projects spanning pensions administration, regulatory change, data, benefits and wider strategic initiatives.

Projects are varied and can include

  • GMP equalisation and rectification programmes.
  • Pension scheme de-risking initiatives.
  • Data improvement, cleansing and remediation.
  • Benefits-related projects and pension administration change.
  • Strategic projects supporting clients' wider pension scheme journeys.
  • Projects designed to improve administration, governance and client outcomes.

This is not an IT-heavy project management role.

The focus is on understanding the client's objectives, managing complex delivery and bringing together multiple parties to achieve the right outcome.

You will also be responsible for the commercial side of project delivery, working on chargeable client engagements and rate-carded projects.

Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how project delivery translates into client value and revenue will therefore be important.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines strong delivery capability with pensions knowledge, commercial awareness and an excellent communication style.

  • Proven experience managing complex projects within pensions, pensions administration, pensions consultancy or a related relevant environment.
  • Good understanding of pension schemes and the challenges facing trustees and sponsors.
  • Experience working with trustees, advisers, actuaries and/or other third parties.
  • Strong commercial awareness, ideally with experience delivering client-funded or chargeable projects.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the personality and gravitas to represent the business externally.
  • A proactive, autonomous approach and the ability to take ownership rather than simply manage a workstream.
