I’m working with a well-established specialty insurer with a profitable Lloyd’s platform, looking to appoint an Underwriting Operations Manager to join its London team. This is a broad role combining team leadership, underwriting operations, data/MI and operational improvement. You’ll lead a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts while working closely with Underwriting and other functions to ensure the operating model supports the business effectively. Leading, coaching and developing the Underwriting Operations team. Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and data quality. Supporting the implementation and development of underwriting systems and technology. Using data and MI to identify issues and support better decision making. Strong Excel and data skills are important, with exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL would be advantageous. This would suit someone who enjoys being close to the underwriting business while leading a team and having genuine scope to improve how the operation works.
