We are recruiting for multiple Property & Liability underwriting positions in Leeds with a leading UK insurer. These roles offer genuine career progression, portfolio ownership, and the opportunity to work within a supportive, established team across New Business and Existing Business functions.

Available Positions:

  • Mid Market Senior Underwriter - Property & Liability (New Business)
  • New Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability
  • Existing Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability (Multiple Positions)
  • Senior Existing Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability

Key Responsibilities (Across Roles):

  • Underwrite Property and Liability business within agreed authority levels and guidelines
  • Build and maintain strong broker and customer relationships across the regional market
  • Manage your own portfolio to deliver growth, retention, and performance targets
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and (for Senior role) coaching to team members
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes
  • Make sound technical and commercial underwriting decisions
  • Maintain FCA compliance and underwriting governance standards

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven Property and Liability underwriting experience in commercial or mid-market space
  • Strong broker-facing and relationship management capabilities
  • Technical decision-making ability with commercial mindset
  • Good understanding of FCA regulation and underwriting governance
  • Experience working within large or complex insurance organisations
  • For Senior Role: Leadership experience with proven coaching and mentoring capabilities
