Director, Quality Engineering (Insurance)
Insurers spend a fortune on change programmes. A surprising amount of it gets wasted because testing was treated as the last step rather than part of the plan.
This role exists to stop that happening.
My client is a global consultancy growing its quality engineering team in insurance. They want a director to lead the testing agenda for major UK insurers: setting the approach, building quality into change from the outset, and telling senior people plainly where their money should go.
You’ll help win the work as well as run it. That means shaping new offerings, writing proposals and pitching to prospective clients. If RFPs aren’t part of your history, this one won’t suit you.
What you’ll need:
- A consulting background, with a clear sense of how advisory firms run commercially
- Proven RFP and bid experience
- Real time spent in the UK insurance market, whichever corner of it
- Testing knowledge from end to end, covering functional, UAT, performance and automation
- Confidence with modern test tooling
- Experience leading teams spread across locations
- The knack of explaining technical risk to a board and business priorities to engineers
