Reference: HT0311b_1793729657This is an excellent opportunity to lead capital modelling across the international operations of a leading global specialty insurer, reporting directly to the Chief Actuary.
You'll own the approved internal model for their Lloyd's syndicate, the non-approved capital models for their UK and European entities, and the Standard Formula catastrophe modules that support them.
You'll lead, develop and retain a high-performing capital modelling team and take full ownership of methodology, assumptions, data, systems, controls and documentation.
Day to day, you'll lead the production of regulatory and economic capital assessments and drive model development, model change governance and validation remediation.
You'll also present decision-useful findings to governance committees.
You'll provide forward-looking insight on solvency and dividend capacity, support business planning, risk appetite and capital allocation, and set the long-term capital modelling strategy.
As the organisation's subject matter expert, you'll influence senior stakeholders and manage relationships with regulators and validators.
You'll need significant capital modelling experience within a London market insurer, reinsurer or Lloyd's managing agency, plus a proven ability to turn complex technical analysis into clear commercial insight.
Excellent communication skills are essential, because you'll be explaining capital concepts to technical teams, senior management, boards and regulators.
You'll also need a track record of leading and developing strong teams.
Ideally you'll be a qualified actuary with experience of regulatory capital submissions, internal model governance and Standard Formula cat, and Remetrica or Python experience would be a bonus.
The role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office, and you'll have the backing of a business with a strong balance sheet and a real appetite for growth and innovation.
