We are looking to appoint an experienced professional to the role of Academic Mentor at Ealing Fields High School. This role supports students in Years 7‑11 with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and takes lead responsibility for students with learning and behavioural difficulties. The position offers a salaried stepping stone for aspiring teachers, with the possibility to complete teacher training at one of the Trust’s schools.
Responsibilities
- Support students in Years 7‑11 with Education, Health and Care Plans.
- Take lead responsibility for students with learning and behavioural difficulties.
- Assist pupils and staff to develop strategies that meet individual learning needs.
- Work closely with KS3 and KS4 classrooms to meet pupil needs.
- Collaborate with the Trust’s safeguarding team and ensure all safeguarding policies are adhered to.
Required Qualifications
- Sensible attitude with flexibility, reflective practice and problem‑solving skills.
- Energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to the ethos of the school.
- Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs or behavioural difficulties is desirable.
- Knowledge of the national curriculum for KS3/KS4 and UK statutory responsibilities.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
