Are you looking for a new challenge supporting children? Fielding is a fantastic place to work. Imagine working in a school where everybody chooses to bring energy, passion and a positive attitude to the job every day.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic play worker with experience in play work in school or a similar childcare setting to work during lunchtime, afternoon school and at afterschool childcare club. Does that sound like you? You might be just the person we are looking for!

It’s important to us that the adults who care for our children during the non-teaching parts of the school day know our children well. This is why our playworkers work at lunchtime and during our childcare club. This also gives us the added bonus of a short period of time each afternoon where playworkers can support some of our most vulnerable children. This could be listening to their read, playing a game or supporting their social skills.

During lunchtime we have a dedicated team of dining supervisors who manage children’s mealtimes before they go out to play. Once outside our playworker team supervises and manages the outside activities for each age group.

The successful applicant would be part of a team of playworkers committed to providing an exceptional, safe and fun play experience for children from Reception to Year 6. This position is play-focused and we will be looking for candidates to demonstrate a strong understanding of this.

Your role would include:

  • following our Values-based ethos;
  • bringing energy and creative ideas for play opportunities;
  • supervising the children at play;
  • working with a large team across school;
  • following good hygiene practice when working around food.

Application: Apply to Jenny Eastwood, HR & Data Administrator. Download an application pack from our website, www.fieldingprimary.com/jobs. Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered. We reserve the right to research shortlisted candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and appointment will be conditional subject to clearance by the Disclosure & Barring Service.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability or sexuality. Fielding Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Closing date: Thursday 11th July at 12 noon. Selection tasks and interviews: Monday 15th or Tuesday 16th July. Please state on your application form any dates when you are not available for interview. Please note, staff parking on site is very limited. We are situated in a controlled parking zone. Further details: Fielding Primary School, Wyndham Road, Ealing, London. W13 9TE.
