Due to our SENCO returning to her home country with her family, the governors of South Acton Nursery School and Children’s Centre wish to appoint a SENCO/ SEND Teacher to work alongside our outstanding specialist provision supporting children with special educational needs, as well as supporting the mainstream classrooms. At South Acton we place the child at the centre of everything we do, operating a child led curriculum and supporting all our children to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for motivated, caring and enthusiastic SEND teachers with a passion for inclusion and better outcomes for all children.

  • To role model outstanding teaching and learning in the foundation stage to children with SEND.
  • To work within a team of teachers, Nursery officers and assistants.
  • To deliver parent workshops to support parents with the challenges they may face in regards to behaviour, toilet training, school applications, etc., as well as delivering staff training to support inclusion across the Centre.
  • To work alongside other professionals including Speech and Language, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to deliver a high-quality curriculum to a small group of reception aged children.
  • To contribute to the reduction of inequalities by helping children achieve excellent academic results and lifelong learning outcomes.
  • To support other Maintained Nursery Schools within the Acton Early Years Federation (Maples Nursery School and Children’s Centre).
  • To line manage SEND teacher and staff.

Must hold QTS, and NPQSENCO or equivalent qualification, or be working towards / willing to work towards the NPQSENCO qualification.
