About Elthorne Park High School

Elthorne Park High School is a successful, significantly oversubscribed 11–18 mixed school in Ealing with over 1,500 students, including 380 in the Sixth Form. In March 2025, Ofsted judged our school to be Outstanding. We have a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Role

  • We are seeking a meticulous and proactive HR Lead to manage our school's human resources function.
  • Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
  • Manage payroll accuracy, oversee staff recruitment and the appraisal of non-teaching staff, and line manage our Office Manager.
  • Maintain the SCR with absolute accuracy to guarantee total statutory compliance.
  • Oversee all recruitment processes including advertisements, shortlisting and interview day schedules.
  • Execute pre-employment checks such as DBS, right to work, references and qualifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory safer recruitment procedures.
  • Manage payroll data and collaborate with the School Business Manager (SBM) to verify salary payments.
  • Record all staff variations including salary changes, allowances, timesheets and annual leave.
  • Administer timesheets for peripatetic music tutors, exams invigilators and claims for other occasional and casual staff.
  • Resolve HR queries involving contracts, leave, salaries, pensions, hours and flexible working.
  • Onboard new starters and issue all necessary employment documentation.

A primary focus of this role is ensuring absolute compliance with statutory safer recruitment and Single Central Record (SCR) regulations.
