Ealing Council is developing a Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy and a new Transport Strategy that prioritises active and sustainable travel. The Transport Planning team welcomes a motivated individual to support these goals by ensuring new developments meet transport and placemaking objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assess transport and placemaking impacts of new development proposals.
- Provide expert transport advice on planning permission applications.
- Collaborate with Planning, Housing Development, Urban Design and Regeneration teams.
- Negotiate with developers to secure positive outcomes for the borough.
- Contribute to key projects such as EV charging, bike hangars, School Streets, micromobility and strategic transport improvements.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in environmental studies, transport planning, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the planning system, transport assessment and travel planning.
- Experience reviewing transport assessments and negotiating with developers.
- Strong interest in sustainable transport.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
