Fixed-term contract for external applicants and/or secondment opportunity for LBE employees – 1 year fixed contract with possibility of further year if funding available. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our community benefits team on a 1‑year fixed term contract. Reporting to the senior finance officer, you’ll be predominantly out in the Ealing borough visiting customers face to face in their own homes. You will help them complete adult social care financial circumstances forms, give benefit advice, and undertake benefit checks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Visit customers’ homes in Ealing
  • Provide benefit advice and support
  • Complete adult social care financial circumstances forms
  • Conduct benefit checks
  • Work in a hybrid environment – from home and in the Ealing offices

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the Department for Work & Pensions benefit system
  • Knowledge of local authority finance and adult social care charging policies and practices
  • Administrative experience and customer‑facing background
  • Ability to prioritise and work independently

Other essential requirements:

  • Command of spoken English sufficient to perform the role (Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016)
