Responsibilities
- Build effective and engaging relationships with young people in the Criminal Justice System, enhancing their life chances.
- Supervise young people on Court Orders with holistic and analytical assessments, planning and implementing innovative interventions.
- Collaborate with key agencies (education, social care, health) to forge positive partnerships.
- Represent the Youth Justice Service with competence and confidence in Court.
- Implement programmes that support desistance and divert young people from offending.
- Encourage restorative processes and foster enhanced victim empathy.
- Reinforce parental responsibilities and provide support to parents in this role.
Essential Qualifications
- A professional qualification relevant to one of the partner agencies (social services, police, education, youth, probation, or health services), such as Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, Diploma in Youth and Community Studies, Certificate of Education.
- Or substantial in‑service training with evidence of validated learning and achievement.
