The Edward Betham CofE Primary School is seeking to appoint an excellent SEND Teaching Assistant to join our high‑achieving, two‑form entry school in September 2026. Graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2024 and ‘Excellent’ by SIAMS in 2022, our school enjoys a strong reputation. Parents and carers are highly supportive and positive about the education their children receive.

Responsibilities

  • Experience of working with children of all ages
  • Experience of working with a range of special educational needs including ADHD, ASD, PDA, SLCN and children who are pre‑verbal
  • Experience of carrying out targeted interventions, working from EHCPs and with external professionals
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to different situations
  • Initiative, practical, positive, warm and compassionate; can support children academically, socially and emotionally
  • Hard‑working, energetic, enthusiastic; supports our values and Christian ethos
  • Ability to support children’s academic, social and emotional development in all Key Stages (EYFS to Year 6)
  • Can develop positive relationships with pupils, understanding their social and emotional needs
  • Remains calm when faced with a variety of challenges
