Hanwell Zoo is an award-winning animal centre in Ealing, West London. We are looking to recruit new members to our highly successful team. The zoo plays a key role in the local community and houses a number of exotic mammal and bird species. We are looking for an individual with practical experience in a zoo setting to assist in the daily running of the retail space at Hanwell Zoo. Both roles will be based in the gift shop; however, in certain circumstances, the role will involve some animal work. The development of the animal collection and the education provision we provide has been key to the success of the animal centre.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with visitors.
- A high level of customer care.
- Work with a number of community groups and volunteers on a regular basis.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Practical experience in a zoo setting.
- Ability to work in the gift shop and, in certain circumstances, assist with animal work.
- Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults (Ealing Council policy).
- Right to work in the UK; evidence will be requested at interview.
