Ealing Council is looking for a Transport Planning Specialist to support the implementation of a new Transport Strategy that focuses on cycling, walking, public transport and electric vehicles. The role supports sustainable travel through transport and placemaking objectives for new developments across the borough.

Responsibilities

  • Assess transport and placemaking impacts of new developments to ensure alignment with the Transport Strategy and borough values.
  • Provide expert transport advice on applications for planning permission in collaboration with Planning, Housing Development, Urban Design and Regeneration teams.
  • Negotiate with developers to secure positive outcomes that promote active and sustainable travel.
  • Contribute to key projects, including EV charging, bike hangars, School Streets, micromobility and strategic transport improvements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree (environmental studies, transport planning or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the planning system, transport assessments and travel plans.
  • Organisation, self‑motivation and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong interest in sustainable transport and the climate crisis.
