Job Description
This is a unique role and an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated executive support officer. You will proactively support the coordination and communications of a busy programme office, developing and driving local government innovation through sub-regional partnership and projects.
The West London Alliance is at the forefront of public service transformation and reform. Our multimillion-pound portfolio of programmes and projects has grown significantly over the past year, and we are increasingly dependent on top-class coordination and communications to support complex stakeholder relations and delivery.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they can work at pace and balance competing priorities. Ideally, you will have significant experience in an executive support or business support role, working across organisational boundaries to deliver results. You will need to apply strong organisational skills, working with initiative to prioritise tasks, coordinate meetings, and manage key programme documentation in support of the director’s and programme office goals in a fast-paced strategic environment.
You will need excellent written and verbal communications skills, assisting with communications planning and presentation across a range of media. You will also need to understand and distil complex issues and have the ability to remain positive when dealing with ambiguity.
The role will suit someone with a curiosity about the way society and the economy work, and the motivation to make things better. Working alone, alongside a small programme office team, and with senior politicians and officers, this is a fulfilling and challenging role within a high-profile organisation.
The role is envisaged as a full-time post of up to 35 hours per week, with scope for some flexibility. Part-time and secondments may be considered.
This role is subject to Ealing Council’s vetting process.
You must have the right to work in the UK. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
It is an exciting time to join us here at Ealing Council. If you would like to make a positive difference to our residents and borough, then we’re looking forward to hearing from you.
Ealing Council is committed to creating good jobs and delivering on its connected communities’ agenda. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive.
We therefore welcome applications from all residents of the borough, particularly from candidates who are entering the employment market in the early stages of their career and mid-career professionals who are currently underrepresented in Ealing’s workforce.
Please note all applications will be determined on merit.
