Ealing Council is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Compliance Assurance Officer to join our Housing Asset Management Service. This vital role helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents by supporting the council in meeting all statutory landlord compliance obligations, including gas safety, water safety, asbestos, electrical safety, fire safety and lift/LOLER requirements. We are looking for someone who will play an instrumental role in delivering a robust, high quality compliance and responsive service.
You will support assurance across all compliance work streams, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, quality checked, accurately recorded, and continuously monitored.
The role as Compliance Assurance Officer includes:
- Provide regular reporting on compliance performance
- Ensure all properties remain compliant across key work streams including gas, water, asbestos, electrical, fire safety and lift/LOLER
- Maintain and update compliance registers, asset databases and relevant systems
- Manage and liaise with contractors, consultants and third party auditors to ensure high service standards
- Collaborate effectively across teams and uphold strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, data protection and EDI principles in all activities
- Support continuous service improvements and contribute positively to the resident experience
About You: To be successful, you will bring:
- Strong knowledge of building safety legislation including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Experience working within compliance work streams such as gas, water, asbestos, electrical or fire safety
- Proven experience in contract administration and performance led compliance environments
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence and engage residents
- Strong numeracy, IT capability and attention to detail
- Confidence to make informed decisions based on factual information
- Ability to work collaboratively, using initiative to get things done
- A commitment to CPD and keeping up to date with building safety and compliance standards
Essential Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*-C)
- Commitment to undertake relevant CPD
