Business Support Officer

Full‑time permanent position (35 hours term‑time plus 2 weeks holiday) based at Ealing Education Centre, Greenford, UB6.

About the role

This role supports the day‑to‑day running of a thriving education and training centre. You will provide a welcoming front‑of‑house service, manage enquiries, support training programmes and events, handle administrative and financial processes, and contribute to marketing and promotion.

Key responsibilities

  • A welcoming and professional front‑of‑house service to visitors, delegates and customers attending the Ealing Education Centre.
  • Manage enquiries by telephone, email and in person, always ensuring excellent customer care.
  • Support the administration and delivery of training programmes, conferences, meetings and events.
  • Use online systems to manage training, venue bookings, enrolments, communications and event information.
  • Coordinate administrative support for allocated training programmes and projects.
  • Support financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, payments and budget monitoring.
  • Assist with the marketing and promotion of training, events and services.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems, ensuring information is up to date and easily accessible.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, schools, training providers and stakeholders to support the delivery of high‑quality services.

Essential skills and experience

  • Experience of providing high‑quality administrative and customer support in a busy office or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage a varied workload.
  • Experience of using online business systems and databases.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, adaptable and flexible approach to work.
  • A reliable, professional and punctual approach, with a willingness to learn new skills and contribute to service improvements.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • A good standard of general education, including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good ICT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office applications.
