We are seeking a dynamic Health, Safety, and Environment Manager to lead and inspire a high-performance HS&E culture at S+N. You will solve the complexities of improving HSE standards, allowing our colleagues to focus on their core business and shape a better future at S+N. In this multi-site role, you will be the driving force behind continuous improvement, demonstrating unwavering commitment and resilience. Effective communication is crucial, as you will build strong relationships both internally and externally, paving the way for success. Your ability to positively influence others and convey clear, impactful messages will be key.

What will you be doing?

  • Acting as a HSE business partner to site leadership, including manufacturing and R&D plus influencing and coaching at all levels to support HSE improvement plans.
  • Sustaining ISO 14001 accreditation and developing systems to achieve ISO 45001 accreditation.
  • Meeting regulatory authorities' expectations and working with them to tailor reporting requirements to fit the S+N business model.
  • Identifying and leading improvement opportunities within the HSE function, promoting a continuous improvement safety culture with behaviour-based programmes.
  • Conducting assurance activities to identify compliance gaps or improvement opportunities and implementing CAPA plans.
  • Maintaining environmental authorisations and permits.
  • Leading incident investigations, ensuring root cause identification and CAPA implementation.
  • Owning specified SOPs, such as Risk Management and CoSHH.
  • Developing HSE management systems for legislative compliance and S+N corporate standards, and ensuring compliance with changing regulations.
  • Tracking compliance obligations, recording actions within the management system, and participating in internal audits.
  • Reporting ESG/Sustainability metrics monthly and supporting compensation/liability claims management.

What will you need to be successful?

  • You will hold a qualifying degree or a similar level qualification in a relevant field, or possess equivalent experience.
  • Experience working to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is desirable.
  • If you have a background in a manufacturing organisation or a highly regulated HS&E environment, that is a huge bonus!
