We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join a globally recognised and world-leading Energy Trading & Commodities company, leading and delivering a complex market data transformation project. This project will support critical middle office processes including pricing, valuation and control functions that will ultimately guide business strategy and process to the wider company. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in multi-vendor environments, deep trading domain knowledge, and a proven track record of delivering high-risk, high-visibility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of market data migration.
  • Own the full lifecycle including planning, vendor onboarding, data mapping, validation, testing, parallel run, and cutover.
  • Ensure continuity of EOD, IPV, P&L, and valuation processes throughout delivery.
  • Oversee data quality, reconciliation, and accuracy controls across legacy and target platforms.
  • Drive testing strategies (SIT, UAT, parallel run) to secure business sign-off and pricing integrity.
  • Act as the primary interface between Trading, Risk, Finance, Product Control, and Technology teams.
  • Manage senior stakeholders and sponsors, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Translate complex technical and data challenges into clear business impacts.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement to ensure readiness, adoption, and successful outcomes.
  • Manage multiple vendors, including market data providers and technology partners.
  • Ensure delivery against SLAs, contracts, and milestones.
  • Coordinate across vendors to resolve data issues, integration challenges, and dependencies.
  • Drive accountability and performance across third-party delivery.
  • Establish and lead a robust governance and control framework aligned with audit and regulatory standards.
  • Own risk, issue, and dependency management, ensuring transparency and proactive mitigation.
  • Identify and manage key risks.
  • Maintain structured risk and issue registers, with clear ownership, impact assessment, and mitigation plans.
  • Lead data validation and reconciliation frameworks.
  • Manage critical issues and blockers.
  • Track and manage dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Lead cutover and transition planning.
  • Drive risk-based decision making, clearly articulating trade-offs across timeline, data quality, and operational risk.
  • Provide structured reporting to steering committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure no material disruption to trading, valuation, or regulatory processes during and post migration.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams across Technology, Data, QA, Operations, and Support.
  • Drive execution across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
  • Manage multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment, delivery discipline, and risk control.
  • Ensure production readiness, including support model, monitoring, and incident management.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Market data (prices, curves, volatilities, reference data) and Pricing and valuation workflows in trading environments.
  • Experience within commodities, trading, or capital markets environments.
  • Strong knowledge of market data platforms.
  • Experience in market data migration, vendor consolidation, or pricing transformation.
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stream programmes.
  • Experience managing high-risk, high-visibility initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage and influence senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience operating within executive governance structures.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors and third-party providers.
  • Understanding of contracts, SLAs, and vendor performance management.
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps or similar.
