Exciting opportunity to join a global Energy company for a 12 month initial contract. This is an exciting time to join this worldāleading Energy company as it evolves from a traditional Oil & Gas enterprise into a futureāfocused Energy leader. This transformation includes the establishment of a highly successful new Power Trading desk within the Energy Trading team and ventures into cuttingāedge solutions that address the evolving demands of the Energy sector. These initiatives include advanced Gas infrastructure, LNG technology, effective Energy Storage systems and Green Energy solutions.
Role Overview
The IT Projects Business Analyst role involves identifying and documenting clients' and stakeholders' business needs and determining feasible solutions to meet those needs or resolve problems. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a thought partner and solution visionary, influencing technology demand and direction within the business community.
Skills & Experience
- Total of 5-7 years of relevant IT experience in the B2B EU Power domain.
Core Responsibilities
- Requirements Management
- Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into actionable functionality.
- Ensure traceability from business needs through testing and final solution delivery.
- Maintain and update documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Process & Data Analysis
- Assess and model current processes, data flows, and technologies using tools like Visio.
- Strong understanding of Data tools and technologies such as Azure, Databricks, Power BI & Power Automate.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and value creation.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Support BA Lead in stakeholder management and large design sessions.
- Collaborate with PMs, business teams, and development teams to understand project nuances and find creative, outāofātheābox solutions.
- Testing & Validation
- Work closely with the test team prior to each release/Sprint rollout.
- Define acceptance criteria and coordinate testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Project Execution
- Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control BA activities within cost, time, and quality parameters.
- Support execution phase deliverables (PDFs) post the decision on solution has been finalized.
Mandatory
- Agile Project Experience
- Handsāon experience with Agile frameworks and tools like Azure Devops.
- Ability to educate stakeholders in Agile ways of working.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Experience in projects related to Data Analytics and knowledge on cyber security is preferred.
- Understanding of systems engineering, data/process modelling, and solution design.
Preferred
- Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum, PSPO, SAFe).
- CCBA or PMI-PBA certification.
- Lean Practitioner training and experience.
- Exposure to IT support model and handover process.
This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multiācultural environment. You also need to be a selfāstarter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
