An exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Architect with Trading experience and strong data modelling skills to join a global Energy Trading company on a long term contract basis.
Contract length: 12 months initially with extensions.
Location: In‑Office Central London, 3 days a week.
Job Description Summary
Ensures the business value of IT solutions is maximised by applying knowledge of the business needs and opportunities, the existing portfolio of IT applications, and the current and emerging technology and IT service capabilities. Encompasses the definition and realisation of architecture designs, models and viewpoints across various lenses such as business process and data management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling architecture activities within agreed parameters of cost, time and quality to meet identified business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to capture and model a data landscape that supports business interests while enabling effective IT management of data.
- Balance technical aspects, organisational alignment, compliance and the evolving data landscape.
- Plan, execute, monitor and control architecture activities to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Extensive Trading domain knowledge, ideally within commodities, trading, supply chain and logistics, commercial finance, utilities.
- Very strong data modelling skills, ideally with Erwin or PowerDesigner.
- Strong Azure environment experience; AWS or GCP experience acceptable if substantial in commodity trading.
- Positive attitude, self‑starter, logical thinker, quick learner, strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
